DRL Limited awarded Payroll Giving Gold Award

Online kitchen appliances company DRL Limited has been rewarded for its commitment to good causes by Payroll Giving in Action with a Quality Mark Gold Award.

DRL Limited supports Bolton Lads and Girls club through Payroll Giving and a number of other fundraising events that take place throughout the year. Last year the company raised over £60,000 for the charity and plans to increase this amount in 2010 with even more fundraising.

Recent fundraising events include; employee skydive in the Lake District, BUPA Great Manchester Run, Bolton Lads and Girls Club Boxing Extravaganza, Krypton Factor challenge, dress down days for World Cup matches and prize raffles amongst others.

The Payroll Giving Scheme allows anyone who pays UK income tax to regularly donate money to the charity of their choice through wages. These donations are deducted before tax, making it cheaper for employees.

DRL is increasing its support of Bolton Lads and Girls Club through mentoring programmes in 2010. A number of staff at the company have expressed an interest in becoming a mentor and are currently undertaking 6 weeks of training and CRB checks before being assigned a mentee.

The company’s primary retail site is Appliancesonline.co.uk, which specialises in large kitchen appliances such as washing machines, cookers, dishwashers and fridge freezers. Appliances Online offers delivery 7 days a week, a 10 day no fuss returns policy and price match promise.
