San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons along with San Diego Center for the Arts Kicks Off New Concert Series with Fundraiser to Support Music Students

as a teacher of music, I feel that it is so important to support students of music, now more than ever, given the budget cuts in education especially in the arts

San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons along with San Diego Center for the Arts will be kicking off a NEW concert series with a fundraiser, Sunday, November 11th, 6pm to 9pm, at the Lafayette Hotel’s Essix Ballroom, located at 2223 El Cajon Boulevard in North Park. The fundraiser will show casing the talents of students and teachers alike. Ensembles to be featured are: Lightning Starts Fire, a group whose drummer, Austin Arthur, who is currently a student at San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons. The Canyon Crest High School Jazz Ensemble will also be performing along with Ensemble Off n On which features Jeanette Kangas, who teaches drums at San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons, on drums.

The November 11th fundraiser concert will open with Lighting Starts Fire and the Canyon Crest High School Jazz Ensemble. The featured artists of the night will be Ensemble Off n On with guest jazz vocalist Leonard Patton. Ensemble Off n On is made up of instructors from San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons and San Diego Center for the Arts, Nate Jarrell, guitar, Harley Magsino, bass and Jeanette Kangas, drumset.

Jeanette kangas, instructor for San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons says "as a teacher of music, I feel that it is so important to support students of music, now more than ever, given the budget cuts in education especially in the arts."
