People who drink and drive in Dallas and Fort Worth gamble with their lives and the lives of every single driver, passenger, and pedestrian they come into contact with.
Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) June 23, 2013
In the wake of several high-profile DWI arrests involving members of Fort Worth and Dallas law enforcement agencies, Dallas-Fort Worth car accident lawyer Jason Stephens of Stephens, Anderson & Cummings, LLP, said it’s important for all drivers to follow the law.
“People who drink and drive in Dallas and Fort Worth gamble with their lives and the lives of every single driver, passenger, and pedestrian they come into contact with,” said Stephens, whose firm has represented people seriously injured in Texas car accidents.
In a June 11 story published by NBC 5 titled “Two Dallas-Fort Worth Officers Investigated for Alcohol-Related Offenses,” it was revealed that two Fort Worth police officers were either arrested or seriously injured in incidents only one day apart.
One officer was arrested for allegedly operating a boat while intoxicated, endangering himself and a child in the process, according to the article. The other officer crashed his motorcycle after a truck had failed to yield at a road sign, resulting in serious injuries to the officer and a female passenger, according to the article. The NBC 5 article stated that investigators are waiting for results of the officer’s blood test and suspect he was driving under the influence.
Weeks before, according to a June 1 WFFA article titled “Dallas Officer Facing DWI Charge,” a 22-year veteran of the Dallas police force was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Another Dallas police officer, too, was arrested on a DWI charge in nearby Rockland after police responded to reports of an accident and suspected intoxication to be a factor, according to the report.
Regardless of who is behind the wheel, the attorneys at Stephens, Anderson & Cummings, LLP, know that drunk driving is a serious offense that can have deadly consequences, Stephens said.
“It’s not uncommon for drunk drivers to engage in risky behaviors such as speeding, ignoring road signs, and reckless driving,” Stephens said. “Rear-end accidents and rollover accidents are also common in these cases, with any accident at risk of turning fatal. Victims of these serious drunk driving accidents demand strong legal representation from an experienced drunk driving accident lawyer at the offices of Stephens, Anderson & Cummings, LLP.”
