Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) August 10, 2012
DWI Lawyer in Raleigh, NC, Ben Hiltzheimer, announced the expansion of the North Carolina DWI Resource Center, hosted on his firm’s website. The goal of this DWI resource is to provide the best and most comprehensive set of information and resources relating to every facet of a DWI or other drunk driving case – including detailed information relating to the traffic stop, the arrest, the DWI charge itself, treatment options, trial, sentencing and punishment, and collateral consequences of the grueling and often frightening experience of being charged with Driving While Impaired in Raleigh or elsewhere in Wake County, or anywhere in North Carolina.
The new DWI resources included in the expansion include new sections on: DWI Stop and Arrest Procedures, DWI Treatment Resources, the Post-DWI Limited Driving Privilege, as well as an expanded DWI FAQ.
The new resource on DWI Stop and Arrest Procedures provides a detailed account of what an individual can expect if stopped and investigated for suspected impaired driving, or driving after consuming alcohol. The DWI Stop and Arrest section includes a detailed outline of the specific types of testing that an individual suspected of a DWI might be subjected to, including “pre-exit” tests that an individual may be asked to perform prior to exiting the vehicle, Standardized Field Sobriety Tests that an individual may be asked to perform on the scene after being asked to exit the vehicle, and various types of breathalyzer tests, including portable units often carried by officers in their squad cars, as well as the breathalyzer machines found at police stations in North Carolina. In addition to describing the procedures themselves, this new resource details the rights of an individual suspected of Driving While Impaired at each step of this process.
The DWI Treatment section of the expanded resource provides information on what individuals navigating the process of a DWI charge can expect in terms of treatment and education requirements. Almost everyone charged with a DWI in North Carolina will be required to participate in a substance abuse assessment and either treatment or education recommended as a result of that assessment, and this new resources provides detailed information on what can be expected in terms of time, cost, and other requirements.
Finally, the expanded DWI Resource Center includes a new section on the Post-DWI Limited Driving Privilege. Many individuals who have been subjected to suspension or revocation of their driver’s license are eligible to obtain a Limited Driving Privilege (LDP) in North Carolina during the period of revocation, for the purpose of driving to work and school during specific hours. This new section of the DWI Resource Center offers detailed information on what can be expected with respect to the Limited Driving Privilege and what is involved in obtaining it in the state of North Carolina.
The expanded DWI Resource Center also includes a more comprehensive FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), with more questions and more detailed answers.
“We have invested significant time in expanding the DWI Resource Center, because it is increasingly clear that the first stop for individuals charged with a DWI these days is the Internet,” said DWI Lawyer in Raleigh Ben Hiltzheimer. “No website should ever be treated as a substitute for a thorough, confidential case evaluation by a locally licensed attorney, but we hope by providing a thorough informational resource online, more people will take advantage of our free in-person consultations and ultimately trust us to handle their cases.”
The Hiltzheimer Firm aims to make the North Carolina DWI Resource Center a one-stop repository of information on DWI laws and procedures in the state of North Carolina, and this expansion furthers the firm’s goal of providing the leading resource on the topic of DWIs statewide.
