Top solo pianist Danny Wright's music has never sounded sweeter. While one hears many tales of woe from musicians who can’t sell their music because the master recordings are unavailable, that is no longer the case for Wright and his thousands of loyal fans. Today, Wright -- a best-selling piano musician -- officially announces the immediate re-release of some of his most popular albums, in both physical and digital format, with the remainder to be made available in 2013. The albums, including his Christmas titles, are being re-designed, re-mastered and re-packaged in stylish digi-paks with retrospective liner notes and carefully-selected bonus tracks; a creative line of themed digital compilations is also underway. Beginning in October, Wright will roll out several new albums per month for physical distribution, and many of the catalog titles are currently available in digital format online. Wright is also refreshing the catalog by releasing new digital compilations he curates alongside A&R music veteran Rod Linnum of BFM. The initial one, Danny Wright – The Essential Collection, includes 15 tracks and is scheduled for October 9th, to be followed by the tentatively-titled Home For Christmas in November, and three titles in December -- a 20-track Broadway album named Wright On Broadway, a 20-track collection of all Academy Award®-winning or nominated songs, and an as-yet- untitled 20-track all-Classical collection -- all leading up to a special Valentine’s Day offering to be released in January. Wright says "many of the compilations will include one previously-unreleased track per title, just to add that 'little extra something' to each compilation."
The first three of Wright’s ten most popular piano albums scheduled for October availability in retail book and music stores as newly-packaged CDs are Black & White: The 25th Anniversary Edition, Phantasys, and Just Wright for Christmas, to be followed by Autumn Dreams, Black & White 2, and Christmas by Candlelight in November, and in early December: Merry Christmas, Curtain Call, Shadows, and Remembering Christmas. A release schedule for the remaining balance of Moulon D’Or titles will be announced in late 2012.
Digital album releases currently available online include Remembering Christmas, Merry Christmas, Christmas By Candlelight, Just Wright For Christmas, Black & White, Black & White II, Phantasys, Autumn Dreams, Black & White: The Classics, and Heart 2 Heart, which is Wright’s most recent all-original album of 33 tracks inspired by the true life and love stories of his fans, including the viral favorite “Victoria’s Hope,” a song he was commissioned to write for breast cancer awareness.
Coinciding with this monumental catalog acquisition achievement is Wright’s 25th year as a composer and recording artist, which he’ll celebrate with concerts in many cities under the moniker Beyond Black & White: Danny Wright Celebrates 25 Years of Piano. With concerts in Las Vegas, NV and Ft. Worth, TX already complete, the next date is at Cape May, NJ’s Convention Hall on October 5, 2012.
