Intertek Supports Earthquake Relief Efforts in China

Intertek, a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions worldwide, and its staff today announced that they are donating in excess of RMB 1 million to support relief efforts and victims of the earthquake in Sichuan, China.

London, UK (PRWEB) June 3, 2008 -- Intertek, a leading global provider of quality and safety solutions worldwide, and its staff today announced that they are donating in excess of RMB 1 million to support relief efforts and victims of the earthquake in Sichuan, China.

The financial donation will be split between recognised charities. Intertek is matching donations of its employees in more than 110 countries in which the company operates.
While Interteks operations in China were not immediately impacted by the earthquake, employees in the country have contributed strongly and swiftly to the companys global appeal and donation. Intertek was the first foreign-listed testing service company to set up a joint venture in China as early as 1989, and has laboratories and offices in more than 20 cities across China. The company employs more than 5,000 people in the country - almost a quarter of its global workforce.

Worldwide, Intertek employees have made contributions through different initiatives and means to support the earthquake relief, and donations continue to be received.
