eBookPie, a new eBook store offering books “whole or sliced”, launched today with over 235,000 eBooks, and is partnering with Wiley to offer Wrox Press ebooks and eChapters. Over 2000 Wrox Press chapters are now available in eBookPie’s “eChapter” program as downloadable DRM-free PDFs.

“Like iTunes does for music, our eChapter program aims to provide consumers with more options for getting just the specific content they desire,” says Jill Tomich, eBookPie’s CEO. “We’re very excited to launch our eChapter program with such an innovative publisher as Wiley, and to offer an extensive collection of eChapters from one of their leading imprints, Wrox Press, famous for their “Programmer to Programmer” titles.”

Why “by-the-slice”?

“Like with pizza, sometimes you only want a slice,” says Tomich. “Not long ago we caught my mother tearing chapters out of a large stack of Italy guidebooks because she wanted to travel light and only planned to visit about 3 cities. Our mission is to provide just those slices you want in the simplest, most flexible and user-friendly way possible, without resorting to actual ripping and tearing.”

Over 235,000 ebooks and all the hottest titles

In addition to hundreds of free chapters from the Dummies series of books, Frommer’s, and other publishers, eBookPie carries a constantly growing catalog of over 235,000 ebook titles, including all the bestsellers, hot authors and new releases from publishers such as Hachette, Random House, Simon & Schuster and many more. Titles are available in several different downloadable formats, including ePub, eReader, Adobe, PDF and Microsoft Reader formats, They can be read on virtually all available eReading devices, such as the Sony Reader, iPhone and iPod Touch, the Astak PocketPro, Macs and PCs, Palms and other smart phones.
