The EC-Council Foundation is taking steps to secure the global community’s digital assets by teaching children how to be safe online through the Live.Learn.Secure. program. The Live.Learn.Secure. education program consists of EC-Council’s Certified Secure Computer User certification. The certification covers, the fundamental understanding of what it takes for children to protect themselves online by immersing students in an interactive environment where they learn various computer and network security threats such as: identity theft, credit card fraud, online banking, phishing scams, virus attacks and email hoaxes. In addition keeping children safe online, EC-Council Foundation hopes that the Live.Learn.Secure. education program will help create a body of knowledge that students can use to peruse a career in the cyber security field.
To help EC-Council Foundation achieve its goals of child online safety and securing the global community’s digital assets; the Foundation has partnered with Information Security Summit of Ohio to teach local children the Live.Learn.Secure. program at their training facility. The Information Security Summit Training Center will be the first training facility to partner with the Live.Learn.Secure. program, as all partners thus far have been high schools. The Information Security Summit of Ohio has already gathered 7 volunteers, to teach the program. Their names are listed below:
Gary Sheehan the Executive Director of Information Security Summit stated, “We are excited to begin this partnership as both organizations share a passion for education, especially when it comes educating our future cyber security professionals.”
