It has been our hope to work with First Nations communities and assist them in identifying and implementing their solar energy strategies. Working with Sagamok Anishnawbek is an important first step in that direction.” Les Lyster, CEO, Eclipsall.
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 09, 2012
Eclipsall Energy Group and the Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation announced today the signing of a joint venture agreement whereby Eclipsall will work collaboratively with Sagamok Anishnawbek to plan the development and implementation of solar energy projects within Sagamok Anishnawbek.
Both parties will be looking to develop and implement PV projects immediately with a longer-term objective of sustainable, renewable energy deployment in Sagamok Anishnawbek.
Another important consideration of the agreement is the creation of long-term employment and to ensure long term sustainability of the projects through hands on training in solar PV operations and technology.
Working in collaboration, Eclipsall and the Sagamok Anishnawbek will also develop and implement solar PV projects within other First Nations communities.
Paul Eshkakogan, Chief of the Sagamok Anishnawbek, said: “Our community has made a commitment to sustainable development and in particular to solar energy. We are pleased to make Eclipsall a trusted partner in our pursuit and realization of this objective.”
Commenting on the joint venture agreement, Les Lyster, CEO of Eclipsall said: “Ontario has the largest concentration of First Nation communities in Canada. It’s been our hope to work closely with First Nations communities and assist them in identifying and implementing their solar energy strategies. The agreement with Sagamok Anishnawbek is an important first step in that direction.”
