Shopatron's eCommerce and order management technology is a great fit for Nigor Net
Swindon, UK (Vocus) June 9, 2010
One of the biggest challenges facing online stores today is the inability for customers to see and feel merchandise first-hand. They are forced to rely solely on pictures and written descriptions. But Nigor Net has discovered the perfect solution for this – show customers products in a showroom, then let them buy online.
As a leading outdoor distributor and licensee of Eureka! Europe, Nigor Net understands that tangibility is very important for consumers when making purchases. By partnering with Shopatron, the leading provider of eCommerce solutions for consumer brands worldwide, Nigor Net has found an innovative way to provide the convenience of an eCommerce store with the added benefits only offered through retail outlets. Nigor Net recently opened a 2,000 square-meter showroom called “Eureka! Experience” in Utrecht, Netherlands, a popular shopping destination located in the heart of the Netherlands. Customers are not only able to see, feel, and test the full line of Eureka! Europe’s outdoor products, they are also able to receive specialized advice from experts working on the showroom floor.
Once they’ve decided which products to purchase, shoppers can either complete the transaction at one of the on-site kiosks or from their computer at home. All online orders are processed through Shopatron’s eCommerce order exchange (Coex Freedom), which assigns orders to local retailers who stock the purchased items and can quickly deliver them directly to the customer.
“Our commitment at Nigor Net is to make people’s outdoor experiences more fun and enjoyable. Because every person is unique, it is important that our customers are able to test products such as tents, backpacks sleeping bags, air mats and other camping accessories to determine a perfect fit,” says Geor Nicolaas at Nigor Net. “We are very excited to offer the best shopping experience for them, a physical showroom combined with an advanced eCommerce platform. And using Shopatron for our eCommerce solution enables us to support our local retailers by having them fulfill online orders that are local to them”.
“Shopatron’s eCommerce and order management technology is a great fit for Nigor Net,” commented Ed Stevens, Founder and CEO of Shopatron. “We have had a growing relationship with Johnson Outdoors, owner of the Eureka! brand in the U.S., since 2007. We now work with their fitness, watersports, fishing and outdoor brands. With this new online/offline hybrid solution, a concept that is garnering significant interest in consumer-goods marketing, we are pleased to see our relationship with the brand move to the next level.”
Since opening the Experience Centre on May 15th, Nigor Net has already seen a “good amount of interest and sales generated through the program,” stated Mr. Nicolaas. Consumers and retailers from The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy attended the exhibition. But he expects consumer interest in this innovative approach will significantly grow over time.
