Low annual fees for forming and maintaining a corporation in Florida are particularly attractive to entrepreneurs.
Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) March 25, 2013
Business formation growth in the Southeast region of the United States represented an overall business growth rate of 21% in 2012 in a year-to-year comparison, according to a recent analysis by The Company Corporation®, the leader in helping small businesses incorporate and form limited liability companies (LLCs).
Florida, in particular, was a hotbed in business formation growth and experienced a 41% growth in incorporation requests from The Company Corporation in 2012. Florida, the state with the fourth largest population, has a thriving business community. Many of the new companies established in Florida are owned by immigrants at an ownership rate that is 13% higher than non-immigrants, according to the SBA Office of Advocacy.
“Low annual fees for forming and maintaining a corporation in Florida are particularly attractive to entrepreneurs,” said E.J. Dealy, CEO of The Company Corporation. “Additionally, Florida is one of the few states that does not have an income tax. This fact attracts people to the state and helps spur the creation of small businesses."
Financial benefits and actual cost to incorporate businesses in Florida vary depending on the structure of the business entity. Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) registered by The Company Corporation grew in the Sunshine State by 24% during 2012 (as compared to 2011). C-Corps grew by 38% in 2012 -- likely the result of Florida's lower fee for C-Corp registration.
