With the momentum of our company growing we want to now make our technology accessible to a broader part of the market, and feel that the iPhone, with its proven success, is the next logical step

eCrypt Technologies (OTC BB:ECRY) has commenced pre-development activity of its flagship product, “eCrypt” wireless email encryption software, for Apple’s iPhone operating system.

Considering the market share that Apple’s iPhone has gained over the past 2 years, it is a natural progression for eCrypt to make its flagship encryption solution available to iPhone users. Currently iPhone represents approximately18% of the world’s smartphone market share, making this is a very strategic step for eCrypt. The iPhone is gaining market share exponentially, and by capturing even a small share of the iPhone’s user base, eCrypt will add tremendously to its shareholders’ value.

“With the momentum of our company growing we want to now make our technology accessible to a broader part of the market, and feel that the iPhone, with its proven success, is the next logical step,” commented Brad Lever, President and CEO of eCrypt Technologies, Inc. “This is just one of the steps eCrypt is taking to maximize our stakeholders’ value.”

Global smartphone market share figures released by Canalys in Q3 of 2009 showed that the iPhone and BlackBerry® smartphone steadily increase their market dominance, while other platforms like Symbian shrink away. In December of 2009, Silicone Alley Insider published a chart showing the smartphone user base and the rate of growth during 2009, in absolute terms. This chart revealed that the iPhone, and BlackBerry® smartphone, are realizing major growth, especially as compared to platforms like Windows Mobile and Symbian. In survey results released in January of this year, Paul Carton and Jean Crumrine of ChangeWave Research commented that "the current survey shows Apple is still excellently positioned to outperform in the consumer smart phone market going forward."

“We expect to have development of 'eCrypt' for the iPhone completed, BETA tested, and ready for release in June of this year,” said Brad Lever.
