Those who prefer go-it-on-their-own Edmonton winter vacations have access to amazing ecotourism offerings. Edmonton Canada is home to the country's largest urban park, the River Valley Park System, with 22 major parks and over 150 kilometers of trails for showshoeing and cross-country skiing. Also within the city, the Strathcona Wilderness Centre includes 550 acres of parkland forest with 12 kilometers of trails, and the Whitemud Ravine Nature Reserve provides a pristine setting for winter sports as well as a toboggan hill.
