Students Pursuing Degrees in Education Named Rodel Promising Student Teachers

Two students pursuing degrees in education from Grand Canyon University’s College of Education have been named Rodel Promising Student Teachers. Grand Canyon University’s field experience programs allowed these students to be recognized for their outstanding work.

It is a testament to the quality programs that our College of Education offers as well as the quality of students that attend GCU.

Two students pursuing degrees in education from Grand Canyon University’s College of Education have been named Rodel Promising Student Teachers. Grand Canyon University’s field experience programs allowed these students to be recognized for their outstanding work.

“Grand Canyon University is extremely proud to have multiple students pursuing degrees in education honored by the Rodel Foundation,” said Cindy Knott, Dean of College of Education at Grand Canyon University. “It is a testament to the quality programs that our College of Education offers as well as the quality of students that attend GCU.”

The Rodel Foundation of Arizona recognizes teachers who beat the odds with outstanding student achievement in high-needs schools. Rodel Exemplary Teachers are honored in the community and become mentors to the most promising student teachers.

Each semester, Arizona colleges of education partner with the Rodel Foundation to name Rodel Promising Student Teachers. Successful candidates are assigned to student teach with a Rodel Exemplary Teacher and learn from the best. They also qualify for a $1,000 college scholarship while student teaching, and a $10,000 U.S. Savings Bond from Rodel after teaching for three years in high-needs schools.

Grand Canyon University’s College of Education prepares to students to excel in the job market by offering programs that provide students opportunities to engage in real world experiences, applying learning concepts throughout the program. They also equip students to perform ethically within the context of their jobs, and to create a framework of high standards within their organizations.
