The best way to achieve success in education is by harnessing technology’s ability to make learning fun
Provo, UT (PRWEB) April 24, 2012
The best way to achieve success in education is by harnessing technology’s ability to make learning fun, said Imagine Learning CEO Susan W. Preator at the 2012 Education Innovation Summit at Arizona State University.
Preator was invited to join other education technology leaders to address those gathered at the annual summit, which brings together the most innovative companies working to improve education. The conference leverages the intellectual assets of ASU, the greater Phoenix public and private educational K-20 systems, and investors of all types - philanthropic, angel, venture capital and large-scale acquirers, to create a network where education entrepreneurs can find the resources they need to validate concepts, accelerate growth and reach transformative scale.
Keynote speakers included Jeb Bush, Founder and Chairman of the Board for the Foundation of Excellence in Education, and former governor of Florida; Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix; Michael Crow, President of ASU; and Michael Milken, Chairman of the Milken Institute.
In her presentation, Preator said educators can take advantage of technology to make learning easy and accessible for today’s student. “Technology unleashes the ability for learning to be more interactive and engaging than ever before,” she said. “Kids are excited about learning when they get to use technology. That excitement leads to academic success, which leads to confidence. And a confident child is the author of his or her own future.”
Preator started Imagine Learning in 2004. In 2010, the company was named the eighth fastest-growing private company in the education sector by Inc. magazine, and Preator received the Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum Entrepreneur of the Year award.
