speakTECH and Microsoft announce the release of the eGov 2.0 Kit, a solution including accelerator templates for SharePoint to help government agencies fast-track their eGovernment initiatives. The next generation of eGovernment (known as eGov 2.0) is focused on not only bringing government transactions to the fingertips of citizens, but also providing a means to connect governments with the communities they serve.

speakTECH and Microsoft today announced the release of the eGov 2.0 Kit, a solution to help government organizations to fast-track their Gov 2.0 deployments and leverage existing Microsoft SharePointâ„¢ deployments through the use of accelerator templates.

The next generation of eGovernment (known as eGov 2.0) is focused on not only bringing government transactions to the fingertips of citizens, but also providing a means to connect governments with the communities they serve. With enhancements including a focus on internal collaboration, integration with social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, and an enhanced user experience, eGov 2.0 makes government more collaborative, streamlined, and more accessible than ever before.

The eGov 2.0 Kit was created jointly by speakTECH and Microsoft and is currently showcased on Microsoft's CodePlex to enable agencies to get a head start on their eGov 2.0 initiatives. In addition to the templates for SharePoint, the eGov 2.0 Kit has the ability to incorporate Constituent Relationship Management, Performance Point, Unified Communications, Active Directory, Azure, and Citizen Service Platform technologies from Microsoft.
