The Evidence In Motion (EIM) Institute of Health Professions, a company created to assist in the continued education of physical therapists, is excited to announce the relaunch of its OCS Prep Course in preparation for the March 2012 Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS) Exam.

The new and improved OCS Prep Course features a new learning platform that provides better access to resources and additional mock exam questions. A new 16-week scheduled course of study is also included. While EIM includes this schedule, many participants take full advantage by signing up for the course early and study with it for six months or longer. The schedule is flexible enough to be easily adapted for students who start studying closer to the March 2012 exam date as well.

EIM first launched this much needed course in January 2010 to popular acclaim. By all reports, participants have found this online method of studying for the challenging OCS Exam to be effective and enjoyable.

"I just wanted to let you know that I passed the exam!” reports Amy Crocker, PT, DPT, OCS, EIM OCS Prep Course Participant. “Your course helped me so much! It definitely helped focus my study efforts. I ‘sing the praises’ of your course every chance I get."

Another EIM OCS Prep Course participant states that the course is, “very comprehensive in all areas of study and made the studying process much more organized and manageable. The course helped save me time by having all the areas that I needed to study for the test all laid out on the computer for me. Excellent evidence-based articles/research were included as parts of each study area.”

EIM's online OCS Prep Course helps physical therapists work through the challenges of studying for the OCS Exam by ensuring that every hour spent studying is productive. A pre-test helps each student to identify their individual weaknesses. Understanding which areas need the most work, in conjunction with a test taking strategies lecture, helps participants to get the most out of their study time.

“The OCS Prep Course also incorporates a variety of learning tactics to appeal to multiple learning styles,” explains David Browder, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, the creator of EIM’s OCS Prep Course. “This includes a pre-test, recorded lectures, links to pertinent web information, and interactive quizzes that provide feedback for both correct and incorrect answers. At the end of the course participants take a 100 question post-test that is designed to mirror the actual OCS Exam in content type and question style.”
