IBM's IOC and WIH technologies allowed us the chance not only to deliver the industry's first partner-provided solution, but also the best quality solution available in the marketplace today.

Element Blue, an IBM Premier Partner, was recognized in the July, 2012, issue of Golf Course Industry magazine for its implementation of IBM's Smarter Water solution in Arizona's Desert Mountain golf community. The project is the first deployment of the IBM Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) and Water Information Hub (WIH) by a partner firm.
"We are pleased to be working with Desert Mountain to improve its water reduction efforts and provide a comprehensive view of its various data through a single platform," said Steven Gerhardt, Element Blue CEO. "IBM's IOC and WIH technologies allowed us the chance not only to deliver the industry's first partner-provided solution, but also the best quality solution available in the marketplace today."
"Golf is only one of a number of industries that can benefit from Smarter Water," said Walt Norley, Element Blue Advisory Board member and UgMO founder and former CEO. "We look forward to supporting the intelligent water needs of the agriculture, municipalities and real estate segments, among others."
The IOC Express for Smarter Water solution developed for Desert Mountain is hosted in the IBM SmartCloud, an environment preferred by Element Blue due to its flexibility, stability and cost-efficiency for clients. "We like the many benefits afforded by SmartCloud, and plan to implement it as often as possible where its fit for the client makes sense," said Gerhardt.
Element Blue's Desert Mountain project is anticipated to be completed in late August.
