Earth Hour is a great cause and the Lights Out Dinner is a small way we can show that we are behind its mission. Sustainability is what we believe in and we wanted to show that we do care about our carbon footprint.

Halifax dining by candlelight for the evening of Earth Hour 2012 at elements on hollis, downtown Halifax restaurant. Guests of elements on hollis can savour a delicious four-course Atlantic cuisine Earth Hour menu on March 31st. The Halifax restaurant will be serving by candlelight for the duration of dinner service for the Earth Hour Lights Out Dinner.

“We take our concept very seriously and we are proud to foster and support local agriculture and ecology,” says Chef Bryan Corkery at elements on hollis. “We are showing the support by doing a lights out, not only for an hour, but for the entire dinner service on March 31st.”

elements on hollis will join millions of people around the globe switch off the lights during Earth Hour 2012. In addition, the Halifax restaurant will be going Beyond the Hour to commit to lasting action on climate change. The Halifax restaurant will be serving dinner from 5:30 to close with the lights out to take part in Earth Hour.

Guests of the premier Atlantic cuisine restaurant can enjoy a special Earth Hour menu created by the team of Maritime Chefs or order of the local daily fare dinner menu. Guests can also select from the progressive local menu during the Earth Hour Lights Out Dinner.

The idea of an Earth Hour dinner was developed by Maritime Chef Jon Geneau and the menu, including selections of Atlantic cuisine, was created by the Maritime Chef Bryan Corkery. Guests can enjoy a four-course meal of delicious Nova Scotia cuisine selections.
