Elite Email, the #1 email marketing service provider in Canada, has been honoured as a finalist nominee for the Toronto Board of Trade Business Excellence Awards in the "Under 30" category.

Nominees for the Business Excellence Awards are recognized as members of the community who have demonstrated outstanding growth, leadership and innovation in business. The annual awards identify organizations in 8 key categories. Winners will be announced during the gala event on November 9, 2011.

Elite Email is a finalist in the "Under 30" category, which recognizes young entrepreneurs who are making a difference both in terms of their organization's accomplishments, as well as their overall contribution to society and the community.

"It is a great honour to be a finalist nominee" says Robert Burko, President and Founder of Elite Email, "My team members and I always work our hardest to ensure Elite Email is the most complete cloud-based email marketing software, backed by outstanding support. To be recognized in our home town is a great honour and a fantastic accomplishment."

Burko, 29, created Elite Email while still in high school. He grew the company while earning a degree at the Schulich School of Business, and today operates Canada's largest email marketing service provider with employees spread out across 4 countries and customers all around the world. Elite Email has previously been recognized as one of Canada's Top 25 Up & Coming technology companies in the 2007 Edition of the Branham 300.

The email marketing industry is exploding in growth and popularity, with 56% of US marketers planning to spend more on ‘newer media' such as email marketing and social media, according to the Association of National Advertisers. Additionally, in 2010 the Direct Marketing Association reported that email marketing is expected to generate an ROI of $42.08 for every dollar spent, which outperforms all other directing marketing channels.

"I'm proud that we're helping to put Canada on the map in the email marketing industry. We have a 'go-big-or-go-home' attitude in our company, and I am confident that while we can celebrate our many accomplishments so far, there are many more great things in store for us" Burko says.

In addition to running Elite Email, Burko is one of the founders of Step By Step Africa, a nonprofit organization that helps fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.
