As a SaaS solution, we are constantly improving our product and seamlessly delivering those product upgrades to customers
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) April 2, 2007
Fortiva Inc., the leading provider of on demand email archiving, today announced that over 40 enhancements have been made to the Fortiva Archiving Suite over the past six months. With the product improvements, Fortiva is now the only Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) email archive that meets a full complement of archiving needs, including email storage management with attachment stubbing, advanced search for legal discovery, and compliance with supervision and retention requirements. The product is being showcased at Microsoft Exchange Connections 2007, where Fortiva is the Gold Sponsor.
“As a SaaS solution, we are constantly improving our product and seamlessly delivering those product upgrades to customers,” said Chris Tebo, CTO, Fortiva. “While many of these changes are invisible to the customer, they represent significant improvements in the speed of the service and overall performance. Ironically, while our on demand email archive continues to get faster and more efficient, the opposite is generally true for customers that choose to manage their archiving in-house, particularly as their storage requirements inevitably grow.”
According to a recent study by IDC, in 2007 the amount of digital information created will surpass, for the first time, the storage capacity available. For businesses, email represents the single biggest storage concern, and keeping up with the growth of archived data is leading an increasing number of businesses to turn to Fortiva’s on demand email archive.
“Storage is cheap – but managing it isn’t,” said Steven Grundblatt, Director of Infrastructure, Cowen and Company. “As a SaaS solution, Fortiva struck the perfect balance for us by allowing us to have control over important things like our policy enforcement, supervision tools for compliance, legal discovery search, and mailbox management. At the same time, Fortiva’s experts deal with our growing storage requirements and data security for our archives – two things for which they have a level of expertise in that we could never expect to achieve in house.”
The Fortiva email archive was built on the concept that an email archiving solution should be managed by IT, but should directly serve the needs of a number of other business departments. Some of the hands-on features that Fortiva now offers include:
- Advanced legal discovery search tools that allow legal counsel to manage discovery requests without the help of IT;
- An attachment stubbing feature that enables IT to reduce email server storage by as much as 80 percent without limiting end user access to email;
- Real-time archive searching from Outlook that allows end users to have complete control over their knowledge base and provides instant access to retrieve accidentally deleted email;
- A web-based supervision tool that allows compliance departments to review and monitor email quickly and easily.
"When we were choosing a solution, it was critical that it comply with regulatory (NASD and IDA) requirements for supervision and retention. But once we started archiving, we realized that we could use the archive for legal discovery as well, and beyond that, for email storage management and to improve our end users' access to data," said Brian Erdelyi, Information Security Officer, Blackmont Capital Inc. "As a SaaS solution, it allows us to focus on our business with the confidence that our archive will grow with our needs. As an added benefit, Fortiva continues to add new features and performance enhancements."
