EMCO Software, a leading provider of Windows software distribution and deployment solutions for Microsoft networks, has announced its plans to release a new version of EMCO Remote Installer software. The development of version 4 was started a few months ago for it to be released this coming fall. EMCO Remote Installer 4 will be released as a chargeable upgrade, but all customers who order version 3 now, will get and an upgrade to the new version free of charge.

EMCO Remote Installer is a network application for Windows that allows network administrators to deploy software applications remotely. Remote software installation and deinstallation can be initiated from a central location and targeted at multiple remote Windows PCs in parallel so as to save time and effort required for software deployment. Remote install and uninstall operations are performed by EMCO Remote Installer in a silent mode on remote PCs with no interruption of end-user sessions, which allows deploying applications to PCs even if they are in use.

EMCO Remote Installer 4 will introduce many new features designed to simplify installations management and deployment. In addition to remote deployment of MSI packages, the new version of the application will allow installation of MSI packages with external dependencies in form of CAB files, installation of MSI packages with MST transformations, and execution of custom pre- and post-installation actions. The improved software inventory functionality will allow network administrators to get information about all installed Windows applications across the entire network. Having this information for every application, network administrators can get the number of installations and the list of PC where the application is installed. EMCO Remote Installer 4 will include features to uninstall applications installed as MSI files from one or multiple PCs remotely in a silent mode.

"The new version of EMCO Remote Installer will be available in both free and commercial versions. The free version is designed for small networks and will allow network administrators to perform software installation and deinstallation remotely in a silent mode. The commercial version of the application is optimized for middle and large-size networks and allows network administrators to benefit from parallel software installation and deinstallation on multiple PCs and to use other enterprise-level features. Performance improvement is one of the main goals pursued in the upcoming release, and the recent test results prove that the new version demonstrates an up to 40% better performance than the current one," Thorarinn Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software, says.

Pricing and Availability
The new version of EMCO Remote Installer will be available in free and commercial editions. The free edition allows managing only one PC remotely. The commercial edition allows managing multiple remote PCs simultaneously. The application can run on the Windows platform from Windows XP to the latest Windows x86 and x64 desktop and server platforms. Upon the release of the new version, the free version and a time-limited evaluation of the commercial version can be downloaded directly without registration at http://emcosoftware.com/remote-installer and http://remote-installer.com/.
