EMCO Remote Shutdown is a remote shutdown and Wake-on-LAN utility that can be used to turn on and off Windows computers remotely over a local network.

EMCO Software, a leading provider of PC power management software solutions, has announced the availability of a new version of EMCO Remote Shutdown software. This software application is designed to help network administrators to manage remote Windows PCs connected to corporate networks. Using the new version of the application, network administrators can manage remote PCs more effectively. The new networking engine introduced in the latest version of the application increases the remote operation performance by 20 percent.

EMCO Remote Shutdown is a remote shutdown and Wake-on-LAN utility that can be used to turn on and off Windows computers remotely over a local network. All remote operations are managed from the central point; manual installation of client modules on remote PCs isn't required. Using the application, network administrators can shut down, wake up and reboot remote PCs, as well as perform other operations like lock/unlock input devices, hibernate remote PCs, send text notifications to remote users, etc.

Network administrators can use EMCO Remote Shutdown for executing remote operations manually or automatically. The application includes scheduling features, so the supported remote operations can be scheduled for automatic one-time or recurrent execution. The application works as a Windows service that executes scheduled operations on a defined date and at a defined time.

All the executed remote operations can be controlled by the network administrators who can define the target PCs on which the operations should be executed. After an operation is executed, network administrators can check the execution results to see if the operation has been executed successfully on every specified computer.

"The new version of EMCO Remote Shutdown uses the new generation network engine, which helps to increase the performance of network operations. All operations on remote PCs are executed in parallel, so turning a thousand of remote PCs on takes less than a few minutes now. The new version of the application is optimized to work effectively in networks of any size," Thorarinn Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software, says.
