Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 19, 2012
Preparis, an innovative emergency preparedness company based in Atlanta, Ga., recently launched its free "Seven Steps to Preparedness" crisis management training webinar series for business leaders, ongoing until the end of September.
The series was launched in mid-August in preparation for National Preparedness Month, observed in September as a part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) efforts to emphasize emergency preparedness within homes, schools, communities and organizations. Preparis' ongoing webinar series is based on seven principles that organizations can follow to better prepare for threats or crises, including establishing emergency plans, practicing drills and crisis management training.
The first two sessions of the series, led by industry experts Bryan Hill and Ben Thornton, respectively, featured an overview of the seven recommended emergency preparedness steps to follow during a crisis, as well as vital information about performing threat assessments and creating crisis management plans. Additionally, on Sept. 13, viewers attended a crisis management training seminar designed to help business leaders select and empower crisis team members.
Viewers are encouraged to attend the upcoming sessions even if they have missed prior webinars, as each features specific information regarding a variety of disaster preparedness topics. Additionally, all materials and recordings from each session will be made available following the conclusion of the series at the end of National Preparedness Month.
Future emergency preparedness webinar topics include "Emergency Messaging" on Sept. 20, which will help attendees learn how to improve communication during a crisis and "Staying Trained and Informed" on Sept. 27, which will teach business leaders how to conduct tabletop drills and to stay up-to-date on changing threats.
"Our Seven Steps to Preparedness webinar series has experienced great success among attendees – we even had to schedule an impromptu repeat of the initial crisis management training session for those who could not attend due to a full registration," said Nate Kristy, Marketing and Sales Operations Director at Preparis, Inc. "Viewers benefit from the wide breadth of knowledge from our featured industry leaders, and they can participate in a beneficial question and answer session after each webinar. We're excited about our upcoming sessions, which will help attendees expand upon the emergency preparedness tools they require to read, react and recover from challenging threats and situations."
