Parents and school staff want to be informed in the fastest way possible if there is a school closure or emergency
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 13, 2009
Chicago independent schools, Sacred Heart and North Park Elementary School, have implemented a group SMS alert notification system to send permission-based advisory, weather, and emergency alerts to the emails and mobile phones of parents and school staff in a matter of seconds. The Internet-based program, designed by Simplified Alerts, was part of a beta test last fall.
"Parents and school staff want to be informed in the fastest way possible if there is a school closure or emergency," said Lynn Lawrence, Principal of North Park Elementary School. "Using this text message alert system, we are able to send text alerts to their mobile phones or email from any school computer almost instantly."
Shari Hurovitz, Administrative Assistant at North Park said, "We knew we needed to find an emergency text notification system we could put in place quickly and securely. Other than low monthly pricing, Simplified Alerts requires no software installation and it took less than an hour to train our staff to use the program online."
Simplified Alerts also allows for text alerts to promote school events and sports updates. A list is created for each group based on a email opt-in, so parents have full control on which text alerts they want to receive.
"Every school, whether part of a district or independent, should have an instant communication tool like Simplified Alerts. It's a secure way to send important advisory messages fast," said Tom Casale, COO of Simplified Alerts.
