Glenn Llopis, who is widely known for his provocative, authoritative viewpoints on workplace issues, Hispanics in America and his immigrant perspective on business leadership has released a new ebook to help employees save their career and corporations save their business. The ebook, "Why Personal Employee Brands Will Save Your Career and Your Workplace" is available for free (for a limited time) at his company’s website. According to Llopis, “my objective is to help people realize that in today’s uncertain economy, we can’t wait for others to help solve our own career problems. We must change our mindset, approach and attitude; and begin to assume the responsibility of ourselves as an ‘employee brand.’ We can no longer view our employers as providers, but rather as enablers of opportunity.”
In a world of temporary employment, the traditional promise of long-term security by employers has vanished. As work life becomes more mobile, increasingly people need to have a clear ‘employee brand’ to carry them from one temporary employment situation to the next. Failure to do so will leave people vulnerable, rather than in charge of their own career. Employee brands become paramount if people are to remain relevant in their work and throughout their career. “I strongly believe that people in the workplace must learn to manage their own ‘employee brand’ or someone else will," Llopis continues. “Isn’t this how people became unemployment victims of the recession? People now must learn how to more creatively take control of their careers by learning how to package their natural skill-sets and capabilities to become more noticeable. This approach not only helps them but their employers perform at their highest levels.”
Llopis’ goal is aimed to help people better position themselves for new and sustainable employment while offering employers new ways to maximize the talent pool and career succession efforts of their workforce. “I believe that by offering the eBook for free it will help accelerate its forward thinking message and cultivate a fresh new attitude about how people can contribute to the workplace in more purposeful and meaningful ways,” Llopis concludes.
