New release helps companies better use and communicate with employees.

EmLogis is releasing the latest version of their popular online employee scheduling software, code named Elm. “We are incredibly excited about this release,” says Chris Kiklas, Vice President of Services at EmLogis. “This release is based almost entirely on direct requests from customers.”

Before embarking on creating this release, EmLogis polled their customers for features they would like to see added to the easy to use employee scheduling application, and several similar themes came to the surface. One such feature, requested from many customers, was the ability to rank employees based on employee skills. “This makes a lot of sense," says Mark Kirkland, Vice President of Product Management, “with our ability to schedule employees in multiple locations, it is possible that employees could end up reporting to multiple supervisors. By allowing companies to rate and rank employees, supervisors get more insight into the strength and quality of employees that they may have not worked with before which potentially aids in their ability to manage those same employees.”

Customers using EmLogis’ shift scheduling software are now also able to send broadcast messages to their employees. The new, easy to use Broadcast Messaging feature allows supervisors to select employees based on skills, teams, locations or a variety of other criteria and send those employees emails to either corporate or personal email addresses to alert them to important company information. “We think it is important to create as many communication methods in one place as possible,” says Chris Kiklas, “so that employers have one, consolidated place to manage all their employee actions, including communications. Whether those communications are in regards to the employees’ schedule, or to important information about things going on at the company, employers should not have to go to several systems or rely on the telephone or bulletin boards to deliver messages.”

By far the most popular, and most requested, enhancement has been Schedule Sync. “Our customers want employee scheduling online not only because it is convenient and easy to use, but because it is more social and more accessible,” says Les Amidei, Chief Executive Office at EmLogis, “and with Schedule Sync, we have done just that.” Employees are able to connect their work schedules to many other scheduling systems, like Google Calendar, Outlook, Yahoo! Calendar, iPhones, Adroid Phones or Lotus Notes. Not only that, but they are able to allow their family members to do so as well, giving families the ability to keep a family calendar that is always up to date with the employee’s work schedule.

These features, along with general Speed Improvements and Schedule Editing improvements, based on actual customer usage, the EmLogis Elm release looks to keep EmLogis on the forefront of easy to use employee scheduling.
