Examination Management Services, Inc. (EMSI), the market leader in medical information, risk management and investigative services, has launched a new platform for insurance carriers and their distribution partners that provides for the streamlined electronic collection and fulfillment of applicant information.

The eINFORM Platform changes the process and speed in which life insurance applications are completed and underwriting requirements gathered, providing a critical component of straight through processing for the life insurance industry. Designed as a dynamic platform, eINFORM integrates with industry-specific systems and workflows that span multiple carrier and distribution channel requirements for receipt of orders and electronic delivery of a complete underwriting package.

IGO Exam, a key offering within the eINFORM Platform, fundamentally changes the way paramedical exams have been traditionally conducted. IGO Exam collects applicant medical information through a centralized, technology-driven application team that completes a short interview with the applicant using EMSI’s proprietary scripting methodology. At the interview conclusion, the application specialist obtains an electronic signature and schedules the onsite physical exam using EMSI’s web-based scheduling tool, ScheduleEZ. This single point of telephonic contact with the applicant shortens processing cycle times, reduces manual errors, creates an audit trail for regulatory compliance with a recorded transcript and shortens the onsite physical exam to approximately 20 minutes.

“We have a deep understanding of the need for streamlined application processing, complete end-to-end information collection and integrated solutions across all touch points,” said Chad Gross, EMSI’s chief operating officer, Insurance Services Division and chief information officer. “From obtaining an objective applicant interview to the electronic delivery of a comprehensive underwriting package, we are providing our customers with faster and more accurate transactions for improved policy issuance rates, while still containing costs. Customers that are using our eINFORM Platform are experiencing up to a 32% reduction in cycle time and nearly100% of life insurance applications in good order.”

eINFORM is a flexible platform where customers can choose the IGO Exam offering plus more robust services for Part 1 application completion, reflexive questioning utilizing CheckRx or SmartScript Services, or automated ordering of APS Retrieval Services based upon policy requirements.
