We’re honored to be selected as part of Gartner’s elite Endpoint Protection Platforms Magic Quadrant for the second year running, said Pat Clawson, CEO and chairman, Lumension.

Lumension®, the global leader in endpoint management and security, today announced their Endpoint Management and Security Suite (L.E.M.S.S.) was recognized as a Visionary in Gartner’s latest “Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms.”1 Recognized for the second consecutive year after adding an anti-malware engine to its PC configuration life cycle management (PCLM) suite, L.E.M.S.S. was commended this year for its historical strength in patch management as well as its encryption and application control capabilities.
In order to be included in the Magic Quadrant for Endpoint protection, vendor solutions had to first demonstrate a wide array of expertise in protecting the endpoint before further being considered. Specific qualifications include: detect and clean malware features, provide a personal firewall and HIPS for servers and PCs; include centralized management, configuration and reporting capabilities for servers and PCs and to sufficiently support companies of 5,000 geographically dispersed endpoints; and provide global service and support.
Gartner defines “visionary” companies as those investing in “leading-edge features, such as advanced malware protection, data protection and/or management capabilities – that will be significant in the next generation of products, and will give buyers access to improved security and management.” Visionaries are often chosen for their best-of-breed features.
“We’re honored to be selected as part of Gartner’s elite Endpoint Protection Platforms Magic Quadrant for the second year running,” said Pat Clawson, CEO and chairman, Lumension. “We’ve worked very hard over the last year to continuously improve our products, including the integration of Device Control onto the L.E.M.S.S. platform and renewing our Security Content Automation Protocol certification with the National Institute of Standards and Technology.”
L.E.M.S.S. simplifies system management, expands operational visibility and delivers more effective security through the integration of Lumension Patch and Remediation, Security Configuration Management, Power Management and Content Wizard. Lumension Intelligent Whitelisting is available on L.E.M.S.S., as well as additional modules, including Lumension Application Control, Lumension AntiVirus, Lumension Device Control and Lumension Disk Encryption.
