Endsleigh car insurance reveals the cars of the Premiership footballers

Share Article

The Range Rover Sport is the most popular car for the Premiership's millionaire footballers and although many of us might not even be able to afford the car insurance premiums on some of these vehicles; for these footballers they only cost a fraction of their enormous salaries. The luxury off-roader has held its place at the top for the second year running now, with stiff competition the BMX X5 and the Porsche Cayenne which came second and third respectively this year.

Range Rover Sport owners include England stars Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, John Terry and Sol Cambell. Terry (Range Rover Sport, BMW X5, Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari F430) and Gerrard (Range Rover Sport, Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari F430, Porsche Cayenne) come out on top - both own four cars in the list, shudder to think of their monthly car insurance premiums!

Here's a brief outline of some of the top premiership footballers cars:

Sol Campbell, the English defender, is a renowned soccer player who appreciates the luxuries of his BMW X5.SUV. A hefty-looking vehicle, it actually prefers city roads to muddy back roads. Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry are also fans of the £55,000 vehicle.

At 22 Wayne Rooney can already afford cars like Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder,Cadillac Escalade, a BMW X5, a Nissan Primera and many others. British tabloids are saying that he has added to the collection of late, placing an order for a $340,000 Lamborghini LP640 Murcielago.

England and Chelsea captain, John Terry clearly isn't shy when it comes to spending big bucks and his $180,000 Bentley Continental GT proves it.

This must read like a wishlist for many top car insurance companies in the UK - for many of these stars cheap car insurance just isn't an issue, and they are willing to pay whatever it costs to cover their pride and joy on the road.

Insurers, like Endsleigh, don't just take the value of the car into account when deciding premiums - they also take into account its theft risk, which means that it might be as pricey to insure a top of the range Nissan as it would to insure a standard model Bentley.
