Cambridge Engineering is now an ENERGY STAR Partner.

Cambridge Engineering was selected by the EPA and DOE as an ENERGY STAR partner to help save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions for commercial and industrial buildings. ENERGY STAR is the Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) national program for superior energy management. Cambridge joined the ENERGY STAR Service and Product Provider partnership as a recognized supplier of energy efficient space heating and make-up air heating equipment.

The cost of energy is often the single largest operating expense for warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, indoor sports facilities and many other commercial and industrial buildings that require both space heat and ventilation with outside air. Hundreds of case studies and building studies document up to 70% energy savings for Cambridge Blow-Thru Space Heating Technology. This ASHRAE 90.1 compliant heating equipment can qualify for EPAct Federal tax deductions and utility rebates.

ENERGY STAR Success stories illustrate best practices, lessons learned, and energy performance achievements through successful relationships between building owners, building managers and product providers that have integrated ENERGY STAR into their business. The U.S. Department of Energy now features a Cambridge Engineering ENERGY STAR Success Story on their ENERGY STAR Product and Services website. A Michigan manufacturing plant replaced its steam boiler with an energy efficient direct-gas fired Cambridge space heating system. The Cambridge heaters were installed during January while the facility was occupied. No temporary heating was required during the conversion. High efficiency direct-fired Blow-Thru space heaters with 100% combustion efficiency and 92% thermal efficiency provided significant energy savings.

The Cambridge ENERGY STAR Success Story documents the plant’s annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions were reduced by over 300 tons, the equivalent of planting 1,000 new trees each year. The project payback goal of less than 3 years was met based on documented energy savings and reduced plant maintenance costs. The heating system’s use of 100%, non-recirculated fresh air improved ventilation and indoor air quality. The new Cambridge heating system also solved a negative air problem and provided additional heat at cold dock door production areas for increased employee comfort.
