Diamonds-USA.com, one of the largest online retailers of loose diamonds and diamond engagement rings, announced that Rachel Epstein is the winner of the proposal stories contest. Ms. Epstein receives a pair of diamond earrings, valued at $3000.
The Diamonds-USA.com proposal stories contest attracted a great deal of interest. Out of thousands of entries, six finalists were selected, and visitors to the Diamonds-USA.com website were invited to vote for their favorite diamond engagement ring proposal story.
In her winning diamond engagement ring story, Ms. Epstein described how she had begged her boyfriend John, a vice president at a movie production studio, to get her on the set of the upcoming movie version of Sex and the City. He made it happen, and Ms. Epstein found herself going through hair, makeup and wardrobe, and being seated by the production assistants, right behind the Sex and the City women.
Ms. Epstein recounted the moment that John proposed: "After everyone was seated, the producer came on the microphone and introduced John as a representative of the studio who wanted to welcome us on the first day of shooting. John thanked everyone for coming, and then said to the crowd, 'Today is a special day for me. My girlfriend is in the audience. It was always her dream to be an extra in Sex and the City, and now I hope she makes my dream come true and marries me.' Then, in front of all the actors, extras, and stage hands, John got down on one knee and pulled out a gorgeous diamond engagement ring." .
