We encourage anyone who hasn’t yet completed the IRS continuing education requirement regarding continuing education to contact us. We have options even at this busy time of the year.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) December 17, 2012
With it being the third week of December, Fast Forward Academy wishes to remind tax professionals that they only havea limited time to complete necessary IRS continuing education requirements. Specifically, enrolled agents and registered tax preparers must complete 15 hours of CPE courses before December 31, 2012. In order to help tax professionals meet this deadline and answer any last-minute questions, Fast Forward Academy has added a new live chat feature to its site.
It’s a busy time of the year, with both holiday schedules and year-end tasks occurring; however, Fast Forward Academy wishes to ensure that no tax professional misses this important continuing education deadline.
Fast Forward Academy has agents available during peak hours to answer any questions tax professionals may have. Should there be no agent online, enrolled agents or registered tax preparers can leave a message and have their query answered as soon as an agent does come online.
Enrolled agents and registered tax preparers can still register and complete continuing education courses online at Fast Forward Academy. Tax professionals can even choose which type of course content they prefer to receive—premium content, standard online courses, story-based content and even video-based content.
All options are broken down into the required categories needed to fill IRS regulations for continuing education tax credits for enrolled agents and registered tax preparers.
Fast Forward Academy president, Matt McBride, hopes that by adding this resource, tax professionals can still complete the requirements on time. “Since this is a relatively new requirement, we want to ensure that it doesn’t get overlooked. Fast Forward Academy can assist tax professionals and help them fulfill this needed requirement, even with only two weeks left before the deadline. We encourage anyone who hasn’t yet completed the IRS continuing education requirement regarding continuing education to contact us. We have options even at this busy time of the year.”
Enrolled agent CPE requirements now state that EAs must complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education credits annually (including at least 2 hours of ethics) and a total of 72 hours every three years. In order to meet these requirements, it is recommended that enrolled agents complete 24 hours of CPE each year.
Implemented earlier this year, registered tax preparers are now required to complete 15 hours of relevant continuing education credits (typically broken down into 10 hours of other federal tax law, 2 hours of ethics and 3 hours of federal tax law updates). This is an annual requirement.
