Environmental Waste Management Company, WasteStrategies, announces that its EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Director Victoria Justus recently published an integral chapter in APPA’s new Maintenance Volume, relating to regulatory compliance for Facilities Management (FM) Professionals in Educational Institutions.
A well-established consultant before merging with Waste Strategies, Victoria’s own company Turning Bird Consulting specialized in environmental and safety expertise in the college and university setting. Approached by the technical editor of the new APPA guidance manuals, Victoria was asked to compile a contribution addressing regulatory compliance in FM guidance documents.
The first of its kind, the contribution reflects the culture evolving as regulations are more consistently enforced in institutions. The guides, in three volumes and now available for purchase, are intended to provide professional guidance and expertise on a full array of issues pertinent to the FM professionals within those same institutions.
Contributing authors include practicing facility managers, private OSHA experts, professional engineers, and educational facility professionals from large and small institutions alike. These experts all combined their knowledge to make this a worthwhile investment of the time it takes to read, absorb, and then apply the content.
Compliance, safety and sustainability are thoroughly discussed in Justus’ chapter 12, and it is noted in the forward as a “major addition to the guideline.” Justus is honored to be a contributing partner in the APPA publications providing vision, transformation, stewardship, collaboration and leadership in today’s ever-changing professional and regulatory environment.
