EcoPlum, a green shopping rewards site and eco-information destination for green lifestyles, announced several new features and a whole new look today to empower and engage consumers to lead sustainable lives and buy eco friendly products.
EcoPlum founder and CEO Gia Machlin said, “The new site is EcoPlum’s first big step towards providing a comprehensive information resource for anyone looking to improve their lives and the communities around them through sustainable living and shopping. Our community wants us to help them make better choices consistent with a green lifestyle.”
Gia added, “In response, we are adding four new sections to our site today, EcoLeisure, EcoAction, EcoKidz and EcoLocal. EcoPedia, formerly Michael’s Orchard, has relaunched to build on its value as a resource when searching for information on green topics. We are also very excited about introducing a fresh new look to our site, with the help of our partner PlanetMediaZone. And, we have made a number of improvements making navigation on the site easier and more fluid for our community.”
EcoPlum is expanding its content offering in response to a growing interest among people looking for trusted information on building sustainable lives, including the purchase of eco friendly products and services. The addition of directories where people can find local information is an important part of the relaunch, with more announcements in this area expected at a later date. As always, purchases through EcoPlum earn EcoChipz, used for discounts on future purchases, or donations to environmental causes.
EcoPlum’s content expansion includes the following features:
1) EcoLeisure launches with listings for green dining, homes, travel and entertainment. EcoDining features listings of Green Restaurant Association (GRA) certified restaurants; EcoResidence provides LEED certified housing; EcoTravel features GreenSeal and Green America certified hotels; and EcoEntertainment highlights eco-themed books and movie recommendations.
2) EcoAction Center is EcoPlum’s call-to-action area where individuals can “Take Action” on environmental causes, including the ability to sign online petitions, send emails, make calls, and more.
3) EcoKidz, under the EcoInfo Section, includes the rollout of eco-games, the first one created by partner Minimonos, along with eco-information for children and displays of their artwork.
4) EcoLocal, under the EcoInfo Section, provides local information on green businesses, including fresh foods, recycling options, and many other items of interest.
