Cast Your Vote for Best Short Video Promoting Marriage Equality

$3,500 in cash to be awarded - everyone who votes is eligible to win Sony video camera.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 2, 2009 -- The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City put out the call, and videographers from across the nation responded by submitting short videos promoting the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. Now it's time for the public to weigh in and help select the best entrants in Project Pushback.

From June 2-15, visitors to www.equalityvideo.org will be able to view the more than 50 video entries and vote for the ones they think are most likely to change hearts and minds in support of same-sex marriage. They'll also have the opportunity to enter a free drawing for a $1,000 digital video camera.

The stakes are high for Project Pushback entrants--the winner of the popular vote will receive a $1,000 prize, and a panel of industry experts will select the Grand Prize winner, who will receive $2,500.

But the stakes are even higher for same-sex couples across the nation, most of whom cannot legally marry in their home states. The tide is turning, but there's a lot of work to be done before everyone in this country enjoys the freedom to marry the one they love.

To view and vote on Project Pushback videos, visit www.equalityvideo.org.
