I am glad I chose Simplifile to start out this adventure. I think the best benefit to the customer will be the time saved on not putting documents in the mail and waiting to get them back via mail.

Simplifile, the nation’s largest electronic recording (e-recording) network, is now providing its e-recording services in Wilkin County, Minn., helping the county’s recording office and its customers save time, mail and printing costs as well as reducing paper waste.

“I first heard about e-recording at our Minnesota County Recorder’s Association conference several years ago,” said Wilkin County Recorder Renae Niemi. “I am glad I chose Simplifile to start out this adventure. I think the best benefit to the customer will be the time saved on not putting documents in the mail and waiting to get them back via mail.”

AgCountry Farm Credit Services in Fargo, N.D., was the first customer to e-record using Simplifile’s newly available service in Wilkin County.

“The biggest benefits our company receives by e-recording are time and efficiency. With Minnesota being a race-to-record state, e-recording will ensure we have our liens recorded immediately,” said Kari Olson, director of lending operations at AgCountry Farm Credit Services.

“Our mission is to provide financial tools, resources and opportunities to help our customers achieve their goals. E-Recording is an opportunity for us to succeed in our mission.

Niemi also shared that she hopes to have several more of their local customer’s e-recording by the end of the year.

With the addition of Wilkin County, there are a total of 51 counties e-recording in Minnesota with Simplifile.

“I could see this being implemented across our association. If the counties are ready, we will use it,” Olson said.

Wilkin County is currently accepting all document types electronically through Simplifile, including deeds, mortgages and satisfaction agreements to name a few.
