Eriksen Translations Inc. (http://www.eriksen.com), a leading multilingual services provider, earned the prestigious Access New York City and New York State Award from the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization (WPEO) last week. The honor recognizes Eriksen as the woman-owned business reporting the most regional Done Deals™ in the WPEO’s annual Done Deals™ Challenge and is an appropriate reflection of the breadth and quality of language services provided by Eriksen Translations. It was the fifth time in six years that Eriksen was recognized for its business leadership.

“Our goal at Eriksen Translations is to partner as closely as possible with clients to ensure that all their multilingual language services needs are met, and that their messages are conveyed accurately to their audience,” said Vigdis Eriksen, president and CEO of Eriksen Translations as she accepted the award at the WPEO Breakthrough Breakfast at New York City’s Grand Hyatt Hotel on September 16. “New York City is a world capital, and its diversity allows us exciting opportunities to demonstrate the breadth of our language services.”

Eriksen Translations earned the honor by successfully contracting a considerable number of business deals with a mix of New York City and State agencies over the past year from April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011. Done Deals™ participants who work with Eriksen include government agencies such as the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, and the NYC Department of Education, who serve the education, healthcare, and social services needs of multilingual New Yorkers. Services provided to these agencies include translation, typesetting, interpreting, Web localization, and multimedia services.

Eriksen also works with cultural institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the National 911 Memorial and Museum, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Jewish Museum, as well as various NYC community service groups and many of the global financial, insurance, and consulting institutions who are headquartered in the city.
