Targeting people who’ve got talent but aren’t famous—yet—eTalentShowcase.com is rolling out its first advertising campaign. Keeping true to its message “Where Talent Gets Discovered,” the campaign features artists found on the site’s vast talent database and is set to premiere on major cable networks, including MTV, VH1 and Cartoon Network.

Unlike a lot of other online talent sites, eTalentShowcase.com doesn’t try to funnel aspiring artists to businesses as leads.

A new commercial for eTalentShowcase.com opens in a bathroom mirror, where a young actor, sporting a shaving-cream mustache, practices his Oscar acceptance speech; a little ballerina pays homage to her teacher and a mini musician announces he is a rock star in the making. The taunting message, “They have a plan for making it. Do you?” sticks to the simple idea that runs throughout the campaign: Talent will never translate to fame if no one’s watching.

With a wide range of services and promotional opportunities, eTalentShowcase.com is promising a way to get people watching. Carrying the theme, “Where Talent Gets Discovered,” the site puts its money where its message is, casting its own members in the television and digital spots. “I kind of broke out of my shell with this,” says Vanessa Barrett, a singer who is showcased in one ad. “I'm beyond thankful for the experience,” she says, adding that it not only offers great exposure, it also helped her gain confidence.

“Getting the email that my son got a part in the commercial was so cool,” echoes Anne Portin, the mother of one of the young actors. “No long waits at a casting call. No read-throughs—they just cast him from the profile we had on the site.”

The campaign, which airs on major cable networks including MTV, VH1, Style Network, Cartoon Network and on digital and social media, positions eTalentShowcase.com as the premier talent site for emerging artists. The first two spots in a series of four can be viewed here... “Unlike a lot of other online talent sites, eTalentShowcase.com doesn’t try to funnel aspiring artists to businesses as leads,” says Edward Olimpio, marketing director of eTalentShowcase. “Profiles are free and the job postings on the site are 100 percent authentic. We are looking to connect emerging talent with people in the entertainment industry who are hiring truly talented individuals. That’s our business model, plain and simple.”
