To further advance its position as an integrated, unified leader for some of the world’s most recognized brands, Euro RSCG Chicago has named one of the industry’s most respected thought leaders to a pivotal guiding position.

James Lou has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Euro RSCG Chicago and Co-Chief Strategy Officer of Euro RSCG North America. In this role, he oversees Euro’s strategic products – ensuring they are sharp and inspiring – and works with the chief creative officer and presidents to help the company deliver the most engaging and effective ideas for clients across all media.

Lou is well-known in the industry as an insightful strategist and a savvy marketer, bringing his sharp skills to bear on a broad range of blue-chip brands and their challenges – from burgers to beer, stocks to semiconductors, telecommunications to tires, cars to credit and skincare to software. He also regularly lends his insights on consumers and brands to the business press, recently as the expert commentator on “The Oprah Effect,” a CNBC one-hour special report. Lou has won many effectiveness and creativity awards for brands such as Microsoft, McDonald’s, Michelin, Anheuser-Busch/InBev, General Motors, State Farm and Mars Wrigley.

Before Euro, Lou was Managing Director of Strategy at DDB Chicago. His immediate and significant contributions to the strategic product of the agency, numerous new-business wins and positive effects on client brands led to his promotion to U.S. Chief Strategic Officer and Co-Chairman of the Worldwide Planning Group of the DDB network. Lou provided executive strategic oversight to all DDB USA brands
and played a pivotal role in DDB’s business-building efforts around the globe. Prior to working with DDB, he was Worldwide Director of Account Planning on Microsoft at McCann Worldgroup.
