Today DigiCert, a US-based Security Corporation specializing in High-Assurance SSL, announced that its new "EV SSL Certificate" is available to order. EV SSL is the newest Internet Security innovation for building trust through stronger Identity Verification.

Phishing and identity theft have become a serious threat in recent years. In response to these threats, DigiCert and other major Certificate Authorities (CAs) joined with browser makers to form the CA/Browser Forum. Extended Validation SSL Certificates work with high security web browsers such as IE7 to turn the address bar green. This "Green Bar" assures your customers that your identity has been painstakingly confirmed, and that your website is not a copycat site trying to steal passwords or credit card numbers.

For customers with multiple load balanced web servers, DigiCert also offers an "Unlimited Server License for an additional $295" (one-time fee, based on a one year EV certificate). The unlimited license means you can install your certificate on two or more servers without having to pay a per-server price for each additional server.
