Event management software, PAAM (Personnel Application, Administration and Management), is taking an all-new, enhanced act on the road this summer. PAAM has quickly become a festival favourite, as organizers all over the UK sang the praises of this innovative event management software system. It lets festival organizers simplify and streamline each essential job function, from organizing and recruiting staff to volunteer management. Now better than ever, PAAM’s makers have fashioned a series of requests into chart-topping medley for their 2011 release.
Dick Collins provides hundreds of workers for UK festivals every year through his company DC Site Services. He said, “DCSS has been using PAAM to recruit and organise its staff since 2007. The programme is easy to use and an absolute godsend for anyone needing to arrange large teams of staff at an event. We’re always so busy in the summer and PAAM has become as essential as waterproofs - I wouldn't turn up at an event without it!"
- Overhauled, more friendly user interface (UI)
- Detailed tracking of user activity and event statistics
- Customisable front end, allowing for client branded PAAM
- An array of new email options allowing targeted recruitment
- New rating features to allow for informed selection of applicants
PAAM (Personnel Application, Administration and Management) event management software was used in 2010 to recruit and organise over 2,500 staff and over 1,500 volunteers across more than 30 of the UK’s most notable festivals and events. Team leaders for last year’s Leeds, Reading and Glastonbury Festivals, The Big Chill and many more, found they were able to control everything from timetables to briefings to event recruitment with just the click of a mouse. Leaders were delighted they could seamlessly access PAAM either onsite or at the event head office. Since 2007, PAAM has been a big part of other famous festivals, including T in the Park, Red Bull Air Race, Isle of White Festival, the Green Man Festival and BBC Proms in the Park.
“Festival Republic has worked with Hotbox Studios since 2003 on the large scale deployment of stewards at outdoor music festivals. Throughout this period, the support and service from Hotbox has been outstanding, excellent, immediate and exemplary. Hotbox is one of the most organised companies I have ever worked with – their commitment and passion is second to none,” Harmony Blake, Festival Republic Ltd, Deputy Licensee of the Leeds Festival & Latitude Festival
Starting out as a humble online application form in 2001, the latest redesign of PAAM comes in response to the growing number of applications for positions and volunteer opportunities at UK events. Created by Hotbox Studios Ltd, the innovative software package has been overhauled and packed with additional features to allow festival bosses who need event management software for effortless management of large teams from the ground up.
PAAM assists with consolidating the pre-event, onsite and post-event administration involved with recruiting large teams and with employee and volunteer management. It is hosted in UK Tier III grade data centres, runs entirely over SSL, is based on Cloud architecture and runs via hardware and software solutions from leading vendors such as Dell, Cisco and Microsoft. As far as what this means for PAAM’s clients - the system is fast, reliable and secure.
Mark Hatchard created PAAM event management software with his company Hotbox Studios Ltd. He said, I’ve been involved with recruiting and managing event staff since the early 90s and, until 2000, applications were processed on paper and by snail mail. Even when an email system was developed, the admin involved was still nightmarish and I knew there must be an easier way. The system I designed grew organically from a basic online application form to what it is today. Now supervisors can handpick their teams from thousands of online applications without the usual headaches associated with staffing or volunteer management.”
