Everblue and the Energy Institute announced a partnership designed to bring more classes to Staten Island in New York, and the surrounding areas. The main goal of the partnership is to offer a wider variety of green training courses to the students of the Energy Institute and to build the Earth’s sustainable workforce through these programs.

“This partnership is a great opportunity,” said Cadi Saunders, Business Development Manager at Everblue. “It allows New York and New Jersey students to take Everblue courses at the Energy Institute’s training facility. Energy Institute can now add sustainability training to their course offerings for their existing clientele in the green industry. I’m excited to welcome Energy Institute to the Everblue team.”

The courses available through this partnership include Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor and Weatherization training, Solar Photovoltaics (PV) theory and install training, and Professional Energy Manager, which focuses on energy efficiency in the commercial industry.

All of these courses result in certifications that will give workers a chance to gain new, more relevant skills when they reenter the workforce in the sustainability and green building industry, along with a higher earning potential and greater job security.

“After reviewing many educators in [the sustainability energy sector], we felt that Everblue was the right choice to align ourselves with,” said Paul Pape, from the Energy Institute. “We are looking forward to an alliance with Everblue.”

Paul Hoffman, from Bloomberg BusinessWeek, candidly pointed out that one of the most common myths about sustainability is that it is thought to be a trend.

“It will not fade or go away,” said Hoffman in his article on businessweek.com. “Sustainability has moved beyond the tipping point.”

The partnership between Everblue and the Energy Institute will allow more students to take sustainability courses in the near future and provide new resources to students of the Energy Institute.
