eWaste Center, Inc. (EWC), an electronics recycler licensed in the states of California and Washington, has been awarded the Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) contract to collect and recycle the District’s electronic waste.

The LAUSD is committed to becoming the greenest school district in the nation, and its sustainability plan includes increasing the level of recycling throughout the District to reduce the amount of waste the District disposes in landfills by 70% during the period 1990 to 2020, increasing from the 50 percent goal adopted in 1989, making LAUSD’s goal consistent with that established by the City of Los Angeles.

“EWC is dedicated to protecting our environment and helping our communities, and is honored to provide our recycling experience and expertise to the nation’s 2nd largest school district to help achieve its electronic waste recycling goals,” says Joung (Jay) Lim, CEO of EWC.

Headquartered in Commerce, CA, EWC is a certified Disadvantaged-, Minority-, and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (DBE/MBE/WBE).
