Varigence Releases Vivid, the Most User-Friendly Analyst Tool for Business Intelligence

Varigence, an emerging leader in business intelligence technology, today announced the release of Vivid--an Excel Add-in for OLAP pivot tables, collaboration, and rich commentary that improves the way users interact with Excel.

Vivid provides more than 50 new features that enable users to work more efficiently and effectively with SSAS/OLAP pivot tables without ever leaving Excel. Vivid's innovative features fall into four main categories:

•     OLAP Cube Navigation. A new pivot table editor, client-side perspectives, and deep search capabilities make even the most unwieldy cubes manageable.
•     Pivot Table Transformation. Vivid makes it easy to construct custom pivot tables, providing users the capability to easily swap rows and columns, isolate cells, and perform cross drills, among other transformations.
•     Date Intelligence. A suite of automated date/time features enables Excel users to generate date and time calculations and sets that previously required a business intelligence architect to implement.
•     Collaboration. Vivid's collaboration tools include a central repository for easy publishing and downloading of reports directly from the Excel ribbon. Also, a new Excel-compatible commenting system adds rich text comments, attachments, and improved searchability.

Vivid was developed in direct response to needs expressed by business intelligence users of Microsoft Excel.
