ExitTicket, a real time student response system breaks out of the early adopter phase and officially launches this week with over 500 schools in all 50 US states and over 40 countries now using ExitTicket.

“ExitTicket is more than just a simple voting/polling clicker app," Explains Dr. Waters, Superintendent and CEO of Leadership Public Schools (LPS) and co-creator of ExitTicket.  “ExitTicket teaches students that wrong answers lead to learning and that micro-successes lead to mastery, empowering them to own their academic progress.  ExitTicket gives teachers the real-time data to realistically do what they have always wanted - differentiate instruction and provide immediate intervention for all students."

"We announced an ExitTicket Early Adopter Program in late March 2013 to a handful of teachers and it spread like wild fire," says Dr. Scot Refsland, LPS Innovation Fellow and co-creator of ExitTicket. "Our Early Adopter Program was a much larger success than we expected, as not only did we see individual teachers using and highly recommending ExitTicket, but several charter management organizations, districts and state level education departments contacted us to start adoption pilots for ExitTicket deployment into all of their schools. With our partnerships with Clever and LearnSprout, we can easily synchronize student roster data on almost any level so teachers don't have to manually manage their students."

Recently Kipp Bay Area Schools adopted and deployed ExitTicket into seven of their schools around the San Francisco Bay area using LearnSprout as their data connector, and Oakland Unified School District is using Clever to synch student roster data into ExitTicket for a number of their schools. ExitTicket is also being deployed in several community colleges and universities around the US.

"Teachers love the application because it was designed in the classroom by teachers and students, so it just feels naturally intuitive," says Master Teacher Mike Fauteux. "We use it daily to greatly reduce our grading time so we can invest in planning high quality questioning and differentiated support to our kids." Early results from Leadership Public Schools for the past 2012~2013 academic year are reporting an average 2.5 grade level gain per student in one year by using ExitTicket.

ExitTicket publicly launches this week with a new website (http://www.exitticket.org) supported through partnerships with several schools, edtech apps and data integration providers to bring world class differentiated learning tools into a 1:1 hybrid classroom.
