"In the short term, they plan on continuing to live together with their son, then gradually transition into a new living situation," their rep told the magazine, Us Weekly.

Messing and her husband met while attending New York University (NYU) in the 1990's, and wed in 2000.

"They have no immediate plans for divorce. They have been a couple for 20 years, and the nature of their relationship simply changed over time," added the rep to Us Weekly.
