Larson Electronics' Magnalight announced the addition of UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof sight glass lights. Sight glass lights are used to illuminate the contents of tanks and vessels in hazardous location areas. Generally, site glass lights have a small form factor and can be positioned to shine in small site glass ports to see the level of the fluid or material inside the containment system. Larson Electronics Magnalight’s offers a non hazardous location sight glass light (SG-NH-120-50W) as well as an explosion proof sight glass light (EXPSG-120-100W). The addition of the hazardous location view glass lights comes on the heels of the announcement of the first fully integrated Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof LED light (EPL-48-2L-LED) last week.
The EXPSG-120-100W provides glare free illumination and works with bolt-on circular flanges, circular weld pads, visual flow indicators, sanitary clamp connections, circular threaded assemblies as well as for specific area lighting in hazardous location areas. This compact sight glass is UL 844 approved for Class, Division 1 and 2, Groups C and D. It also UL 1571 approved for wet conditions. Equipped with a 100 watt spot halogen lamp with bayonet base and separate reflector, this explosion proof sight glass light is suitable for indoor and outdoor installations.
Rob Bresnahan, with Magnalight.com explained, “We are rapidly expanding our range of surface mount explosion proof, hazardous location lighting and general area lighting products. The non-hazardous location sight glass light is a new specific area light and the explosion proof sight glass offers specific area lighting for hazardous location areas. At the same time, we are adding to our line of LED lighting products with high output, non-hazardous location LED lights like the LED10W series. The overlap will continue. We are examining each fluorescent and incandescent based explosion proof light to determine the opportunity to integrate our LED bulbs. The sight glass lights will definitely be one of the categories we pursue with LED upgrades. The success of the battery powered, explosion proof EXP-LED-F4W and the EXPRL-95 explosion proof LED lights have lead to the development of the fluorescent light replacement of the EPL-48-2L-LED. Soon we will be releasing an LED version of the sight glass and several of the explosion proof hand lamps and vapor proof drop lights.”
Larson Electronics LLC manufactures and sells a wide range of general purpose and hazardous location lighting, ranging from low voltage LED lights to high voltage fluorescent light fixtures and high powered metal halide lighting. Combined with a wide range of handheld lighting, remote controlled lights and explosion proof fans and blowers, Larson Electronics continues to build on its “one stop shop” value for operators in the blasting, petrochemical, environmental and manufacturing industries.
