It was our honor to provide K’NEX building sets for this special bedroom befitting a very special kid
Hatfield, PA (PRWEB) May 16, 2011
K’NEX Brands, the only US construction toy company focused on Building Worlds Kids Love™, was pleased to provide 25 K’NEX building sets to assist ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew in a recent renovation project. The renovation, which took place from February 13–19, 2011 in Rossville, Georgia, aimed to create a safer home for 9-year-old, Patrick Sharrock who suffers from a rare genetic condition commonly known as brittle bone disease.
“The heroism of the many kids and families that deal with chronic health conditions never ceases to amaze me,” said Michael Araten, president of K’NEX Brands. “It was our honor to provide K’NEX building sets for this special bedroom befitting a very special kid.”
K’NEX provided 25 age appropriate toys comprised of over 10,000 colorful pieces for Patrick who is a building enthusiast and enjoys designing robots. The toys were part of a themed bedroom created to appeal to Patrick’s love of building. The new bedroom is just one of the extensive renovations to the Sharrock family’s 50-year-old home which had become unsafe for Patrick. The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition episode that featured this renovation aired on Sunday May 15 at 8/7c on ABC and is available online at http://abc.go.com/watch/extreme-makeover-home-edition/SH559052/VD55126652/sharrock-family.
