Digital Sports Group today announced the launch of a milestone 1000th PFA official fan page on Facebook. DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association earlier this month and opened the launch of the brand new Player profile fan pages. They have today reached a milestone; with the 1000th profile going live being controversial Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli.

Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait was delighted to see Mario Balotelli emerge as the 1000th profile to go live. “Balotelli certainly comes across as one of the more vibrant characters in the game and is certainly a player with a lot of fans.”

“With around 2500 player profiles being launched onto Facebook we were surprised to discover that Mario Balotelli was the 1000th, but we are happy to finally see his profile go live and I think many football fans would probably agree!”

The Italian international has hit the headlines on a number of occasions since arriving in England in August 2010. At just 21 years of age, he has made many fans not only because of his footballing ability but also due to his off-field antics.

The official PFA player pages give fans the chance to keep up to date with all the latest news related to their favourite footballers as well as exclusive content and video packages.
